ARS scientists are examining a new decontamination method for raw meats like beef and pork. Just as meat is marinated before being put on the grill, in this method, raw meat is marinated in an ozone and water solution before it gets to the grocery store. This treatment kills about 90% of bacteria on the surfaces of meat.
